If you haven't already done so I suggest that you right click on the taskbar, and go to taskbar settings. Under "Notification area" you can "Select which icons appear on the taskbar". I suggest you disable those you don't use, and enable wamp, it should start with aetray or something similar.

It is also worth noting that different menus appear for WAMP depending on if you right or left click on the system tray icon. Please explore all of these options thoroughly! I suggest that you select "Display WWW menu" as this will give easy access to the folder in which you will install JOOMLA

Click on WAMP in the system tray. If yours isn't visible already, it may be beneficial to follow the above suggestions.

Edit the httpd.conf file

Find and edit the lines pertaining to the "Directory" section and ensure you are granting access to all, and allowing all to override.

We need to make similar changes to the remaining .conf files

Select the php.ini file for editing

Here, we want to change the max upload sizes for everything to work properly in the event that your future JOOMLA templates or other files exceed the current maximum values

Make sure to comment any changes! Upon completion you will have to restart WAMP. If you encounter any errors, the WAMP menu includes functionality to verify the syntax of your recently edited files.
